Ok well the say the best portrait focal distance is around 105 f/11.
I was looking at the 55-250 with the image stabilization, but I am only really planning on using it in broad daylight and I really want to be able to pull in close... plus my budget is a concern. I dunno though, I'm trying to work it through, so I figured I'd see what you guys said.
Right now, all I have is the 18-55. Toward the 55 side it really starts getting soft, and it is not close to as magnified as I would like to be.

I almost wish I had gotten a nikon... mostly because of the lens compatability.

I had a little canon point and shoot when I was like 18. I've been hooked ever since. I'm just afraid to invest in lenses because who knows when they'll release a new camera that won't hook up to the old lenses.![]()
