CulRidr's MP3 N/A build (~150whp goal)

Yes, I am incredibly bored at work... and chopping out a roll of tissue paper was a good fifteen minutes distraction on Photochop...

Dude....theres a crazy Canadian taking a dump in your engine bay...hope they get rid of that for you before they put the motor back in ;)

You're gonna need to fill me in on the poutine... That's a canadian thing? I've never heard of it....

nasty? hell no, that s*** is the bomb!
just stfu, close your eyes and eat it
and yes, you eat it with a fork

most canadians simplify it by just dumping gravy in the fries and skip the cheese, and it's just as good

uncultured americans (laugh)

LOL uncultured!? Cheese fries with gravy.... Not doubting that they taste good tho.. I bet they taste even better while your right arm is going numb mid heart attack. (hump)

Valve springs arrived today, but got a call from the transmission shop saying the 1st/2nd gear shift fork didn't fit. Looked up the part# and realized I ordered the updated part for the 1.6L, not the 2.0L...Talked with the guy, and he seemed to say that it wasn't really worth it to upgrade so for the sake of time I'll just stick with the stock part which was still in good shape and will return the other part. Would have done it otherwise, but I just don't want to wait an extra 2 days, especially since they can finally put it back together.
I did however update the part# in the appropriate post so that people can order the right part if they want.

the shift forks were never "updated" to be stronger
one of many urban myths that float around on this board
all they did was parts bin the s*** from the 626 tranny in order for the updated 1-2 synchro assembly to work

Onlinemazdaparts has updated part numbers for all 3 shift forks when you use the part numbers from the parts catalog...

travel to other parts of the world and you'll quickly find out first hand how american (and canadians) have many years to go in developing truely good and unique cuisine

ok, so they are interchangeable and mazda probably discontinued the old part to reduced costs

whether the new part is stronger or not, there's no proof of it

but one thing is for sure, both parts used to coexist as far as replacements goes because none of my parts catalogs show supersessions... it only comes up in the price book (which gets updated a lot more often)

I'm a chef. Well, I used to be a chef anyways. lol I greatly enjoy exotic Japanese cuisine (and most asian), and I appreciate pretty much anything thrown at me.

Ya I really enjoy how the quality/selection of good food seems to be growing temendously anymore. A lot of japanese, indian and south american restaurants/food stores have been popping up around here. It's nice...

Sorry CulRidr, this will be my last offtopic post (maybe). lol

Fair enough. Thanks for the info and insight :)
