GI : Big Brake Upgrade

It doable, but it's not as good for 60 foot as slicks with a smaller tire. A slick will give you the best results or so i've seen. At least 60 foot, but top end suffers.

I'm actually in the process of restoring my stock MP3 rims and putting some wider tires. It will be just for this weekend as there is a big event at Moroso with lots of Mazdas.

Any ideas of a time frame, cost? The series 5 is the FC correct.

sidewall is your friend for 60 footers
that and added weight of larger rims etc

there are gearing implications for running a larger wheel too....

Ya I know that but with the anti-lag and how fragile even my built tranny is I'm not too keen on running straight slicks. I don't wanna see my secondary shaft snap again. Some good race tires on 17's deflated to 12psi or so will work fine.

You are doing it wrong.....
The tranny should take a good beating a few times before it breaks.

ps-GTX gears are W/E. Not built..... (headshake

Oy! I've got the calipers, and I see that I'll need some brackets if I want to fit these on my 1.6L 4 lug. Are you going to make those brackets as well or am I out of luck because I have a 4 lug?

Well I test fitted the calipers on my 1.6L. Turns out the mount is not threaded so I can't mount them to the car. It seems that I need some sort of bracket to pull the caliper up and out of the way of the rotor. Any thoughts on this Twilight.

I am curious still...
My left rear caliper siezed today. That was the only one I have yet to replace. Bringing my total to ....5 calipers in 4 years!

I am looking into SSBC or Wilwood Dynalites to replace the fronts.
