Hi guys,i just bought a MSP last week and it came with the hard piping with a type RS BOV and a Boost science BPV.This is my second MSP and the set up from the previous one was different and personaly i don't like this set up cause i can't hear the BOV...Since it's been a wild that i played in a MSP engine bay i would like some help. I looked up in the HOW-TO section and didn't find what i was look for. I want to get rid of the BPV cause i'm pretty sure that's the main cause of my problem, but want to be sure that it's not going to cause any other problems.
On my last set up(if i remember correctly) i had a Type S BOV and i took out the BPV and blocked the hole from the CAI.
Can someone confirm if this is correct.
Thank's Ben

right now your running a duel set up. to change that just get rid of the BPV (a der.) and i guess plug the hole (not hat sure about that one rather weld it) and relocate the MAF sensor on the cold pipe and you can (most of the time) run a safe BOV Set-up.

Other people can add cause they know more than me hah

the rs is a fairly quiet bov.. i run a dual set up with the type s and its pretty loud when I'm getting on it

the rs is quiet. if you take out the bpv you will have stalling unless you tune the rs right. if you want to hear a bov you will need a hks or something that is louder.

Type S or Turboxs RFL

Well for now i was hoping to get something out of my RS,i'm looking to find a Turbo XS RFL or a type S but there's none on the forum for sale....
I would probebly like the HKS but don't wan't the problem of welding a other fitting for the BOV.

I have an RS also. Its pretty loud. Just relocate your MAF to the coldpipe. easy fix, takes like 20mins to do.

if it's already relocated i don't really see a reason to run a dual setup. just take out the bpv.

My only problem now is to find something to block the two holes... The one in the CAI and the one on the hot pipe.

Bpv

Here's the two holes that i have to block....I went to the hardware store and there's nothing that fits those holes....

OK,now every hole is filed and the BOV is ajusted.....But i can still hear the turky!!! Man i'm disapointed.........

i just upgraded to the HKS SSQV and have no use for the turbo xs type S BOV. Let me know.

Auto parts store has stuff that will block it... Its a black looking rubber cap that fits perfectly on the INjen

i second that.. mine is definitely not quiet.. running an RS too. However i think i have turkey.. not sure what it sounds like though lol

it sounds like a bov (whoosh) but take that whoosh and stutter it so its like wh oo sh but in a drunken like slurred way (or a turky gobble/ or pigeon coo)

Gobble, goooble, goobbbble?

ALTHO, in my opinion it sounds like a pigeon =/

yeaaaah! lol only if im not on it though.. when im on it and in boost she's very crisp and wooshy. lol

Vacuum source for bov can be used from the stock BPV line but like i did and others before me i got rid of the tee in the line from the bpv (shared with the wastegate actuator) and put a line coming from the brake booster line.

there is a recent thread where i asked that question and someoe showed pics

I have cleared that issue,i went to a boat store and they have ajustable rubber plugs(1/2"-5/8") that fit perfectly to those holes.

I have mine T'd to the brake booster...

thats the same as what i have. but i was referring to the 10th post with the Pics. the second picture has the vac line t'd off with something else. that may be causing the problem.
