What have you done to your Miata today?

what brackets? the control arms are the same. If there is a bracket for the sensor wire, that can be remidied with zip-ties...

See....that is excatly what I was thinking!
Muff...where'd you get your set?
I saw a few on ebay for under $400 for the set.

If it works out cheaper...and from the looks of it (you all rock adj's with springs) I may just go that route instead of c/o's.

It won't be cheaper than crap coilovers (tein basics, ksports, etc), but it's cheaper than real ones. I got mine from Good-win-racing.com. I'm running the race version. They have shorter bodies and valving good for up to 1000 lbs/in springs, but I used to have the regular yellows. They're good for about 450 lbs/in springs. I got a bit of a deal on my races, but the place I got 'em from doesn't have any more (they just wanted them off the shelves lol). If you get the konis, you can get the koni coilover sleeves and some springs from someone like summit and have a cheapie setup.

post a pic??

I forgot, I've also got a manual steering rack coming my way, along with an STS2 legal radiator (ie: stock). Mine's had an aftermarket one ever since I bought it. With the manual rack out, I can get rid of my PS stuff, along with even more (less) weight on the crank pulley. The ring for the power steering/ac can be machined off of the pulley to help things further.

Kevin, IIRC you did a PS to Manual swap on yours. Is there anything else that is different in the steering linkage, or is it just the rack?

you can't do the cheapo power to manual conversion, or is that against the rules?

against the rules. That was never a stock component. I don't think that's even allowed in street mod. I'd love to, but can't :(

I am definately in the market for a hard top. Unfortunately the glass alone is $$$. I just missed out on a local white HT..arg.

Phil, if you're looking for cheap suspension, I have my old KYB AGX shocks with Eibach lowering springs in the basement. The set has about 10k miles on it. The only downfall is the short travel of the shocks with those springs. LMK if you're interested and we'll talk.

Muff, outside of the steering rack itself, everything else is the same. There will be no issues bolting it to the steering column. Just be sure to set your steering wheel dead center as well as the replacement rack to ensure proper alignment (there are other methods, but this is the easiest).

kev are those the adjustables?
the shocks are, the springs aren't.

Good deal. Yeah, I'll probably need to get someone to hold it centered. Worst case is I set the toe, take it out for a drive and then move the rack side to side to center the wheel.

Andrew, Does that pully have the harmonic balancer built into it? If it doesn't have a balancer, I'd advise you not to use it...

That's the reason I haven't invested in an UD pully yet. I've heard varying remarks, but when thinking about it, the crazy things that harmonics can do to a rotating mass really steers me away. Who knows how long it would take, and likely it'll be fine, but who's to say.

Never priced out Lexan before, but i figured you'd have skill to do something like that...

As far as the rear window, I have never messed with Lexan. I likely don't have the proper tools to heat and bend it properly.

LMK how much u want for them Kev.

Phil, an interesting offer came my way today regarding the shocks. I'll keep you informed.
