s*** s*** bad s*** s***. My production date is a month or two after yours. What are the earliest production dates on the 08's?

Give it a rest guys, jesus, if your turbo smokes then Mazda will replace it. It is not a big deal. They are not going to put a recall out for something that is not harmful to the vehicle's safe operation.

I think we are all stressing do to the fact we want to mod our cars/have modded our cars and do not know how Mazda will respond to that...

I guess its going to have to be a one by one case...

So recalls are only done to potentially dangerous conditions that might harm the occupants in the car? I thought it was for all non-conformances...

^Good luck with that one.

Anyways, I think I may have it, at first I thought it was just because it was cold, but I was only getting smoke at idle, and ambient temps were hovering around 60 today. I'll let it idle a bit tomorrow and see what I get and report back. Stock exhaust.

Don't even bother emailing them, I emailed them 2 weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply. Also, per CP-E, you will never hear anything from Hitachi.

Of course the email is worthless. I am going to call and hopefully talk to one of the big wigs. Why should I support their tools and other power equipment if they can't make a decent turbo seal?

Has anyone in Minnesota had this issue? I am preparing to take my vehicle to the dealership and am wondering what response others have had. I had it in one other time for the issue and they claimed they could not duplicate it.

Its from having an open exhaust with no cats that causes this to randomly happen, its happened on every single turbo car i have owned, its not from your turbo seals!! its the moisture in the exhaust metal sweating out and turning into steam, makes it look like you blew your headgasket or somthing but then goes away, weather has alot to do with it too. usually happens after you do a hard run then let it idle. Nothing to worry about

You might want to spread the word to Mazda that they are replacing turbos for no reason...lulz

well i notice that mine will randomly spew out white smoke for like 5 seconds if the weather is weird or i the car was cool and i did a hard run. every turbo car i have owned did this only after i replaced the exhaust with a huge catless one. inclueding my turbo civic, GTI, WRX, MS3. this blue smoke you speak of is definatly different than what im talking about. Sorry bout that.
