Baconbitz's 1997 240sx Project/DD

Damn those rims are super badass. Sweet 240! I don't really know much about them , but I love how the look and sound. Good luck with the motor, i'll be checking in to see your progress.

Thanks man.

Here's a couple of pictures I was able to snap a little bit ago when I got it out of the garage. I would have tried to get some better ones but I couldn't find the mount for my tripod.

Artsy shot of the back. Actually I just didn't know I was out of focus :)

A tad bit low.

Side Shot. I need to drop the rear a bit and may have to get the rear fenders rolled and play with the camber a tad. All in due time I suppose.

Man, nice S14! The color is different and I like it. Yes, you do need meatier tires. Keep us updated on your modding! Oh yeah, why not go KA-T?

KA-T is cool and all but they have lots of problems. For a bit more money you can make the same power, safer, with an sr20. Only downside to the sr20 is the displacement of course but you can make up for that with a twinscroll :)

Whats with teh red dot on the windsehild?
Lol thats just a piece of trash that somehow found its way onto the windshield.

Thanks to everybody else that had nice things to say too. Hopefully I can get some more mod's going after christmas.

Man that thing looks bloody unreal, it really outclasses most 200sx's we have here in Australia!!!

When u do get the chance, go SR20-powered, will be very quick with the right engine management and turbo setup...

very sweet dude. i've been a huge fan of the silvia conversion for some time. when i'm done doing the pro...my next car is an R33 skyline!

Thanks again for all the nice comments guys.

Lowered the back of the car about an inch today. Didn't get a chance to get pictures because it was dark and cold out so I'll do that tomorrow. Looks a ton better now that the car is level. Hopefully I get some new s*** tomorrow too :)

I also really want to get the JDM Kouki rear valences a friend of mine has but I'm kinda broke so they may have to wait even though I'll end up paying at least twice as much later :(

BTW boostdprotegelx: I almost bought an R33 GTS-T about a year and a half ago. Couldn't sell the mazda in time though and I would prefer a GT-R. My suggestion is that you get one. They kick ass. Such nice cars.

-It depends on who you talk to. True, a stock block turbo ka, if you don't tune it correctly the ka will be unreliable. ::edit In my experience edit:: the stock ringlands were never meant to see boost and won't hold up for long over 10psi. However, how reliable is a high mileage SR that you have no idea how it was treated in japan?
I managed to build my ka and put together a turbo setup for less than a typical sr swap ($4k). Cept for me being stupid and not tightening bolts and paying attention to things like oil pressure it has been perfectly reliable.
My $.02

SR, RB, CA, VQ, VH (baller), LS (ultimate baller)...whatever you do, good luck, she's a very nice ride.

Ps: Don't bother with original Kouki JDM rear valances, they are made from very brittle plastic and don't hold up well. Plus what people are asking for them is insane. I got a set of reproducitons from Raceonusa made from flexible fibreglass. They are identical in look but much stronger.

sorry but i beg to differ. the ka motor is boost happy. i know many people running 350 whp with no problem. all about the tune get a enthalpy tune with a safc 2 on top for fine adjustments in fuel and your good to go. i happen to know someone in the area thats making 422@22 psi on the stock ka bottom end w/ no work done to the head besides cams. Been there for about a year now and before that he was at 350 for about 3 years. My self personally i had a ka-t w/ a bb s14 t28 pushing 14 psi and the motor handled it just fine. so the ka ringlands will hold up fine.

Is the VH you're referring to the VH45 or whatever? Sorry, I know nothing about Nissans and 240s but I have quite a few friends and local club members who own them. The reason I ask is because recently a club member (CCVT) just put a 4.5L Infinity V8 into his 240 (couldn't tell you what year). The real kicker is that he's bolted a turbo from a Mac truck onto it as well. If I could find pictures I'd post them... the car's not pretty but the engine bay is badass. Definitely all out drag car/dyno queen.

There's a couple of VH motors: VH41 and 45DE and also the VK45DE (I forgot about that one)...so basically you smell what i'm steppin in.

Yep, VH45DE - just looked it up. The build is crazy! I just found some pics for reference if you really want to get crazy:

...I hope these links work.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this thing made over 450 whp at only 6 psi maxxing out both the injectors and the MAF.
