I don't have a problem with any of Mazda's value line parts. They're not going to sell you something that won't work properly in their cars; that would be just plain crazy!

Also happened to my 2013 (when I owned it) several years ago in San Francisco. Very common occurrence these days. Has made me very cautious about venturing into that space; such a shame!

Then I suggest you don't stake out a position here. Especially one that all bureaucracies fall back on when it becomes painfully obvious to everyone that they're incapable of performing their job. The answer is always "just throw more money at the problem".😣

Keep in mind that Japanese industrial scandals aren't always as clear cut as they're made out to be. Remember the Carlos Ghosn/Nissan debacle? The symbiotic relationship between the government and large corporations really muddies the water in many of these incidents.

Give your VIN to your dealer parts dept to run through their system and they can give you the part #.

Have you driven a Mazda with CD? While there's an outside chance this that engine might not be quite as smooth in operation as one without CD, it can in no way be characterized as one that "jumps/skips/lurches".
