Have a 2016.5 CX-5. Opted for the manual car wash today and blew off the back right rear roof rail piece (rear passenger side). I can see the small retainer clip that holds it in place rusted out is why. Anyone know where to find these clips? And why aren't they rust proof. Ha... Pic below of what I found and where the retainer clip resides.
Updated: local dealership says these retainer clips are only serviced with the roof rails. Replacement set is $284.95. From parts manager. Seems a bit steep. LOL
When I got home I checked the opposite side on the rear. About to do the same thing, fail. See the additional photos below. I'm going to need to come up with something to replace as Mazda apparently doesn't have these parts. Any ideas welcome. Rather not have to glue this into place.
