Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

I hope the quality has improved! Never had more recalls than with my Explorer. Check out Flood Ford for an extended warranty unless you got yours included as a part of the deal.

The BMW does have a nice camera system.

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

A 3" width reduction wouldn't be noticeable in the 60/80 if they changed some other interior dimensions. The interior of the 70/90 doesn't feel that big when you're sitting in it. My Explorer seems huge inside in comparison. Seems like some companies are charging for the power liftgate - but...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

They got it right overseas! Looks nice and may be a tiny bit too skinny but the interior of the CX90 isn't all that big, in spite of its width.

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

It's been brought up a few times as an alternative to what I (and potentially some others) expected to be the rough length of the CX70 when the rumor was it'd be a similar size to the CX60, only wider. The X3, XC60 and CX60 are all within an inch or two of one another on major dimensions. For...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

Did more digging into the X5 and decided it is too big for what I need/want. The X3 definitely lacks the refinement that may be coming in the 2025 model - the current version strikes me as the 'economy car' version of the BMW SUV range. The minimalist interior of the Volvo appeals to me more...

    Car Leasing vs Financing

The big difference between what I showed and what Ninja_Matt showed is that mine is based only off of dealer provided figures - not through a broker who can get better deals than the average person walking into a dealership. The broker deals are heavily dependent on factors that may change the...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

I saw this and wondered how much more it'll be against the RS6. I hear that MB is discontinuing the E63 AMG soon (if not already). It's nice to see wagons making a tiny comeback. I looked at the Volvo V60 Recharge Polestar - they've changed something in the car since my 2015 - I can't get into...

    Car Leasing vs Financing

Depending on how you finance - the car can always be under warranty. I've paid off all my vehicles way earlier than the finance terms. Depends on the interest rate and other things I've got going on. In my specific example - Volvo will allow for 15k miles per year but it's cheaper to lease the...

    Car Leasing vs Financing

You don't want to put a down payment on a lease, IMO. There are leasing calculators out there that will show you down payment vs. monthly payment - they typically don't show you options like MSDs, however, and you get that money back at the end of the lease term. A lease is a glorified rental -...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

I've researched just about everything that's come into view in this range (under 195" long, >300hp, non-CVT transmission, ICE/mild hybrid/PHEV, two row, et. al.) and eliminated the vehicles that don't cut it. My short list was the Mazda CX70/CX90, Acura MDX S Type, BMW X5, Volvo XC90/XC60. I...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

Went back and looked at the MDX one more time. Decided it's too big and has too many weird things for the price. Test drove the Volvo XC60 Recharge Ultimate today. Half way through the test drive, the Mazda was eliminated. Volvo has more power, smaller exterior size (but feels comparable...

If you haven't used the Michelin PS AS 4, they're great tires. I use them for 3 seasons and Nokians for Winters.

Air suspension, in general, is a problem waiting for the worst possible time to reveal itself. Run flat tires are another thing I avoid.

Fortunately, I'm still in a Volvo forum from the days of owning a V60R Design so I'm doing a lot of reading. I like the design a lot. Why not the Macan? For me, it's the same reason you're avoiding Volvo - reliability.

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

I do know a few people with trouble-free BMWs but they're largely outweighed by those that have problems - and now that I think about it, those with few issues own the newest models (2022 and newer). And you're right - it's all anecdotal/subjective. People do tend to color their experiences...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

They may be delaying any additional builds to get through the vehicles sitting on dealer lots. I've been watching a few at a local dealer - they've all been there for 60+ days - and if you know how vehicle sales work, that's a lot of money tied up in flooring expense unless Mazda is covering it...
